Bio

I am researching my family history with special interest in our Cherokee heritage. I have traced my family beginnings to the mid 1700's on the Old Cherokee tribal lands of the Hiwasee River in North Carolina. The union of my Cherokee ggggGrandmother and my white ggggGrandfather brought a start to our family on the Bowers side in Johnson County Arkansas in the 1830's. I have worked diligently with other family members and from old family records to reconstruct the various branches of the family. The project now contains 624 persons and 172 individual families. My father; Bobby Bowers started this project in 1998 and it was passed on to me as his only son when he passed from this place in 2000, his father and his father's father going before him.
